Bosque Eterno de los Niños

The Children's Eternal Rain Forest (CERF) is an internationally recognized forest created with the help of children worldwide. A group of young students in Sweden started a fundraiser to protect the Monteverde Children's Eternal Rain Forest, hence the name. The fundraiser soon spread across the world and students in other countries began to become aware of the concern.  These young kids, along with their teachers and parents, chipped in money, and eventually gathered enough to buy and protect the land. Today, there are 44 different countries showing their support though non profit organizations.

Today, the Children's Eternal Rain Forest (Bosque Eterno de los Niños) CERF, is managed by the Monteverde Conservation League (MCL), a non profit that works to conserve ecosystems and biodiversity. The rain forest is a total of 22,500 hectares (54,000 acres).
CERF works on maintaining hiking trails, protecting the land and the wildlife (reforestation or monitoring animals), educating others about the environment, etc.
